Networkme
system messaging live
15th May 2008
- We are delighted to confirm that as of
today the system will more easily facilitate
the communication between campaign teams
and volunteers. The main advantage is that
campaign teams will be able to easily contact
volunteers via a secure messaging channel.
Volunteers will be able to contact campaign
teams once they have been added to the teams
network or once the team has sent them a
message.
Commenting on the new system Matthew Priestley,
Operations Director of Networkme said ''The
internal messaging system was developed
as a direct result of feedback that our
users had given us. We believe that this
new messaging system will significantly
improve the ability of campaigns to quickly
find and contact skilled volunteers."
Campaign teams will also significantly
benefit from having an internal system to
manage their campaign contacts and the system
provides the teams with a clear audit of
messages so they have a record of which
volunteers they have contacted in the past.
The team at Networkme are always striving
to provide you and our campaign teams with
the best technology and service. The new
messaging service fulfils one of our core
objectives in better link up skilled volunteers
with professional campaigns. We welcome
your feedback on the system which can be
sent to our team directly at

Social
Action Group Success
16th April 2008
- Over the last 2 months the team at networkme.com
have been successfully linking up volunteers
with social action projects. We are pleased
to announce that one of the social action
projects that networkme.com supported has
recently come second in the social project
National Excellence Awards. Maria Hutchings
(PPC for Eastleigh) worked with networkme.com
to get local people to write to soldiers
serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Maria was
clear in her praise: "networkme.com
provided me with the volunteer support to
get this project going - I'm really very
grateful for all their efforts".
Commenting on the success on placing people
on social action projects Sam Olsen, Political
advisor of networkme.com said ''the social
action projects are a great way to make
a difference in your local constituency
while also keeping up the political momentum
on local campaigns in your area. A recent
social action project success involved rejuvenating
an old reservoir in Oxfordshire. Many people
had a great time in the spring sun, while
demonstrating social change really can happen
by giving a much needed helping hand to
a community.''
Two campaigns in need of volunteers from
networkme.com have recently come to light
in Oxfordshire We are currently seeking
help with both Green Action projects and
Concerts for Kids. The Green Action Projects
involve people volunteering for anything
between one hour and a whole day to contribute
to the local environment. Concerts for Kids
is a social action programme designed at
getting underprivileged youngsters access
to music concerts. The first organisation
to sign up to Concerts for Kids is the City
of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra; as a result
we are looking for CRB-checked individuals
to help chaperone the kids between Oxfordshire
and Birmingham
If you wish be placed on a social action
project then please contact Sam Olsen at

Networkme
launches online skills engine to serve the
political volunteer community
15th September 2007
- At an event at the National Liberal Club
in London on the 12th Networkme launched
a unique online political skills engine
which has been developed to ensure campaign
teams have access to talented volunteers.
After a 12 month design, consultation and
development process the management team
of Networkme are delighted to confirm that
as of today volunteers seeking to contribute
to election campaigns for the Conservative
Party in the UK will be able to register
their skills and upload their CVs online.
Members of the Networkme community's profiles
can be searched by Parliamentary candidates
and campaign managers who are looking to
staff their teams with skilled volunteers.
Commenting on the launch Andy Bookless,
Managing Director of Networkme said: "We
have been working for over a year to develop
our service that will serve as a searchable
online community of skilled political volunteers.
This is also a critical first step which
will enable us to develop a wider skills
portal to deliver value across the political,
charitable and corporate communities."
A talented, organised and energetic
campaign team is vital to winning elections
and Networkme has been designed to ensure
our political users - who will ultimately
include parties and organisations from around
the world - benefit from being connected
with what we hope will be thousands of skilled
volunteers."
Outlining how the technology connects the
campaign team with skilled volunteers, Matthew
Priestley, Operations Director of Networkme
said: "Our Microsoft .Net
application gives us the framework and flexibility
to allow us to adapt our system to meet
the future needs of our users. We
also needed to create a secure environment
for our members and our clients to come
together and engage with each other. To
do that we have ensured we operate within
a password protected secure environment
and also host our system with an award winning
hosting provider."
In her speech at the National Liberal Club,
Communications Director, Nicola Kaye said
: ''The success of the political system
is that we have taken a very simple idea
and turned it into a potentially powerful
tool. Networkme links up people who are
interested in contributing their specific
skills and time to a political campaign
with candidates looking to resource their
campaigns. The power of the tool lies in
its potential to bring new people to the
democratic process through the unique online
system and the wider Corporate and Charities
communities.''

Bluelist changes name to Networkme to reflect increased scope of service offering
1st September 2007 - the management team of Bluelist.org Ltd have today confirmed the development of the skills portal concept they have been working on for the last 12 months by announcing a new brand name that will extend the scope of the volunteer led online community beyond politics into the charity and corporate sectors.
Originated by Conservative activists in the UK five years ago, Bluelist has been changing from the original concept - a portal that catalogues the range of groups associated to the Conservative Party - into a dynamic skills engine that enables Parliamentary candidates and their campaign teams to search for skilled volunteers to staff their election teams.
Commenting on the new cross sector approach Andy Bookless, Managing Director of Networkme said: "As politically active people ourselves we've worked on campaigns and we've seen the fantastic impact skilled volunteers can make when they are well utilised. This is why we set out to change the focus of Bluelist a year ago from a static directory into an online community of skilled volunteers that can make a massive difference to election campaigns.
It wasn't difficult to then realise that there are thousands of charities which could also benefit from access to talented people to promote their causes. The corporate element was a natural evolution because what business wouldn't get value from recruiting proactive and skilled people who are socially conscious enough to give their time to political or charitable campaigns?"
Commenting on the new brand Communications
Director, Nicola Kaye said: "When
Bluelist was a politically focused project
we had no issues with the name, we had good
awareness within the political community.
Because the opportunity is now so much bigger,
by incorporating the charities and corporate
organisations, we realised we needed a more
encompassing approach. Networkme was chosen
because behind all the technology we offer
a very human service. Connecting, or networking,
talented people with teams who are in need
of their ability and time is the fundamental
core of our service, we use the internet
as our vehicle because it gives us global
reach and it is the way our members and
clients choose to communicate."
